Meet The Team


Phil Howard


Phil Howard has been at Berea since September of 2014. He is originally from Louisiana where he graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003. He served as a youth minister in various churches before coming to Berea. Pastor Phil is married to Mandy Howard and they have three children. Having lived in Fredericksburg since 2005, Phil has built many connections in the community through ministry, coaching sports, and volunteering with the BSA Scouts and Cub Scout programs. Phil is currently a Tiger Den Leader.

Bill Anderson


Bill Anderson is originally from Spokane, WA. At the age of 18, Bill enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, eventually being stationed in Virginia. Bill having not grown up in a Christian home came to faith as an adult. Bill is currently an MDiv student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bill joined Berea Baptist Church in 2022 as the Youth Pastor. Bill is married to Katie and has a daughter (Audrie) and a son (Jackson).

Ares Bisco


Ares Bisco is originally from the Philippines and grew up in Alameda, California.  Growing up in a minister’s home under the influence of his father, Ares became involved with nearly every aspect of church ministry at a very young age: music, youth, education, administration & custodial, senior adults, and outreach.  He has served in various churches as worship leader and in youth ministries prior to coming to Berea.

 Ares and his family moved to Virginia for his last military assignment in 2002, and joined Berea Baptist Church in October 2016.  Ares is married to Delia and they have three beautiful daughters, Rianna, Jessie, and Ally.
